The idea behind Bibliomancy is to notice connections in unfamiliar elements. Often, the themes that emerge through this exercise are typically unconscious during the foraging process. 

We asked students to take a notebook to a library or bookstore and wander around. For at least 60 minutes, they drifted among the stacks, flipped open books at random, and took notes.

Then, at home or in a quiet place, they read over their quotes and notes, looking for common themes, connections, or surprises. Only then, after this long process of accumulation, did they write.
